Come to the Dark Side…We Have runDisney!

For all of you Galactic Empire fans, this one is for you.

runDisney has announced an additional Star Wars Half-Marathon weekend for Walt Disney World in Florida! WEEEEEEEEE!!!! *major happy dance*. Inaugural WDW races wil be April 14-17, 2016.  Doing the challenge run in WDW is called “The Dark Side Challenge”, and running both the DL and WDW Star Wars races will now be called “The Kessel Run Challenge” (the Star-Wars specific Coast-to-Coast. Can you run it in less than 12 Parsecs? 🙂 ).

Registration opens September 22nd. Prices to come.

The nerd in me has awakened. I’ve been a Star Wars fan for almost 20 years, ever since I stumbled across the original trilogy on VHS the summer before entering 5th grade/middle school (1997-when the 20-year re-release of IV, V and VI was issued). I was Darth Vader for Halloween, all of my school supplies were Star Wars-themed, my teacher was also a Star Wars fan so we were best friends, and I signed up for the Star Wars Kids Club. Emperor Palpatine was my favorite character, Return of the Jedi was my favorite movie, and when I was bored in computer class, I’d sit and type out dialogue by memory. Still a huge fan, no doubt. I’m eagerly awaiting for Episode VII to come out in theatres!
